It is a challenge during this pandemic! Prices are HIGH!

Grocery prices are skyrocketing this Thanksgiving. I am very observant and noticed back in 2020 that food prices were on the rise during the pandemic.

I believe that food prices are now the highest they have ever been! The cost of food items are unbelievable!

I am very strategic. Just a small dinner for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I decided to get non-perishables for both holidays at the same time. So, I finished grocery shopping yesterday. I believe it is highly likely that in a few more weeks, food costs will rise even more. But, I am essentially done!

Grocery Shopping Yesterday!

I cannot believe it! I actually had to go to four (4) grocery stores yesterday! But, I had a feeling I would have to do that. There is a supply crisis right now for many reasons. But, I did not think I would have to go to 4 different grocers in one morning. I did and Mission Accomplished.

  • Baked ham
  • Baked chicken
  • Cornbread dressing
  • Potato salad
  • Cranberry sauce
  • Simple salad
  • Dinner rolls
  • Lemon cake

Food Items Purchased

Baked ham! Plus, I have chicken in the freezer that I will bake for BOTH holidays.

This is mandatory for good dressing. I had to go to 4 different stores to locate chicken gizzards and chicken livers. These are hard items to locate. But, I got enough for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Whew!
Dessert will be a delicious, moist lemon cake with cream cheese icing.

Glad I beat the mad rush and packed grocery stores next week. Stay tuned next week for my Thanksgiving post!
